A word from our stylists...

I believe that the way a person feels about their self has everything to do with the way they see themselves, and that's where I come in. I have 9 years of experience in the beauty industry, but I consider it my job as a stylist to continue education and keep things fresh and new.

Personal growth and education are very important to me because the industry is always changing. If I'm not constantly learning or creating new trends I would not be providing my clients with the level of service that they deserve. I have trained at the Aveda Academy at Yorkville, in London, England with award-winning hairdressers Toni & Guy, and taken industry courses in Vancouver, Toronto, and New York. In 2009 I attended six unique hairstyling courses. Most recently, I took a trip to NYC in October to participate in a creative cut & colour class.

I've made it my mission to treat every single person that sits my chair as an individual who deserves to have their questions and concerns listened to and respected. I pride myself on professionalism and providing the best possible service. I look forward to seeing new and returning clients, and I'm excited to work in the beautiful new salon at JBU.

Hi! I'm Erin, the assistant Salon Manager at hair by JBU. Since training in Toronto with Aveda and Goldwell colour, I've spent ten years gaining experience in hairstyling at some of the Kitchener-Waterloo area's best salons. I'm really happy to add my know-how and personal approach to hair to Waterloo's best and most innovative house of style: JBU.

Hair is really, really personal. That's why I encourage my clients to take their time through a consultation process so that they are on the same page as their stylist. I like to sit down in a relaxed setting (like our gorgeous new salon) and find out about you and your hair before even picking up the scissors. It's important to talk about what you like and what you don't like about your hair, what you want it to do for you, and how to maintain your style with the right care in your day-to-day life.

I love it when clients bring photos in with them of cuts and colours they like and tell me just what they expect from a new style (or stylist!). Not all hairstyles work for everyone – we're all different. It's my goal to give you style that works for you, for your life, and for your type of hair.

I think finding the right look for you should be a fun experience, and I can't wait to get to know you so I can help you get it!
